Community - The Preschool Board
The French-Australian Preschool is a not-for-profit incorporated association overseen by a board of parents. Every parent who has a child enrolled a the Preschool is automatically a member of the association and can nominate to become a Board member.
The role of the Board is to:
- Provide strategic direction and approve major initiatives and policies
- Ensure that the preschool meets all licensing and accreditation requirements and meets all of its legal obligations
- Approve the financial year budget and monitor the financial performance of the Preschool
- Recruit and monitor performance of the senior management team including the Director, Assistant Director and Senior Teacher
- Manage sub-committees
The Board consists of 10 family representatives elected for a 2 year term, two community representatives, the director, the senior teacher, the assistant director and two staff representatives (one teacher and one assistant teacher).
Board meetings are held on the last Tuesday of every month except January. The Annual General Meeting is held on the last Tuesday in March.
